Marshall Football Ranked 21st in AP, Coaches Polls
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall football team finds itself ranked 21st in both the Associated Press Top 25 (297 points) and Amway USA Today Coaches Poll (285 points).




The Herd (9-0 overall, 5-0 Conference USA) is the highest-ranked Group of Five school in both polls.



The third edition of the College Football Playoff poll will be released Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.



Marshall leads the nation in scoring margin (31.2 points), yards per play (8.02), 20+ yard scrimmage plays (75), 30+ yard scrimmage plays (41), 60+ yard scrimmage plays (10), 50+ yard rushing plays (tied, 10), 60+ yard rushing plays (8), yards per rush (7.24), PATs made (tied, 58), 60+ yard scrimmage plays allowed (tied, 0) and winning percentage (tied, 1,000).



The Herd hosts Rice (6-3, 4-1), winners of six-straight games, for Saturday's 2:30 p.m. ET contest that will be televised on FOX Sports Net.
