Wayne took an early 18-0 lead in the first quarter. The score at the half was Wayne 40 and Sissonville 6. The game gave Wayne an opportunity to play a lot of younger players.
Former players, friends and family member came together before the game to honor former Wayne High School football coach Scott Jarrell. Coach Jarrell coached the Pioneers for 19 years. He passed away on New Year's Eve.
