The Horror Writers Association, the premier organization of writers and publishers of horror and dark fantasy, on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 announced the 2014 nominees for the iconic Bram Stoker Award®.

"We're very honored to publicize that among those vying for the international honor is Michael Knost, of Chapmanville, for his 2014 novel, "Return of the Mothman,” said Keith Davis, CEO of Woodland Press, LLC, Chapmanville, WV, publisher of the book. "The artfully crafted story focuses on several southern West Virginia characters—along with the Mothman, that legendary red-eyed winged creature—with Logan County as its backdrop. Return of the Mothman has been nominated in the Superior Achievement in a First Novel category."

In 2009, Knost won the Bram Stoker Award® for Non-Fiction for the book, "Writers Workshop of Horror" (Woodland Press), administered during the 2010 World Horror Convention. "Writers Workshop of Horror" went on to earn the editor's choice Black Quill Award that same year in the nonfiction category.
