Conference USA Moves Marshall-WKU Game to Friday for National TV

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall’s 2015 football game at Western Kentucky, originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28 on Thanksgiving weekend, has been moved to Friday, Nov. 27, Conference USA announced Wednesday. Details on a national telecast and the kickoff time will be announced at a later date.


Marshall’s home dates versus Purdue (Sunday, Sept. 6) and Southern Miss (Friday, Oct. 9) also have been moved off Saturdays to accommodate a national television partner (to be named).

Marshall and WKU combined for 1,446 yards of total offense, 168 plays, 133 points and 74 first downs in a 67-66 Hilltopper overtime victory in the 2014 regular-season finale for both schools. This season’s game will be the Herd’s first in Bowling Green, Ky., since a 47-13 Marshall victory in 1950.

Coach Doc Holliday’s Thundering Herd is coming off a 13-1 season, with a first Conference USA championship, final Top 25 rankings and a Boca Raton Bowl victory over Group of Five power Northern Illinois.
