Reaves Earns Preseason All-America Honors from Phil Steele

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall kick returner Deandre Reaves was named a preseason third team All-American by Phil Steele Monday afternoon and was among 14 Thundering Herd student-athletes recognized by the outlet.


The Herd’s total, including its six first-team honorees, led all Conference USA schools.


Running back Devon Johnson, offensive lineman Clint Van Horn, linebacker D.J. Hunter, safety Taj Letman and punter Tyler Williams joined Reaves on Steele’s first team. Offensive lineman Sebastian Johansson and defensive back Corey Tindal were named to the second team. Wide receiver Deon-Tay McManus, center Michael Selby, defensive lineman Gary Thompson and linebacker Evan McKelvey were third team honorees and wide receiver Angelo Jean-Louis and safety A.J. Leggett were selected for the fourth team.


Johnson, Van Horn and Williams were first-team selections last season by the C-USA coaches, while Hunter and Tindal were honorable mention selections. Jean-Louis was an All-Freshman selection.
