HUNTINGTON, WV- The wait is over! Individual tickets to all 2015-2016 Marshall Artists Series events will go on sale to the public on Monday, August 31st at noon. The series promises a memorable season with exhilarating, award winning performances. The electrifying schedule includes names such as Boz Scaggs, Molly Ringwald, Kacey Musgraves, Annie, and Walk The Moon to name just a few. Get your tickets now!

 In its 79 year history, the Marshall Artists Series has always been at the forefront of cultural exposure through enrichment and groundbreaking entertainment for Marshall University students, and the Tri-State community. As part of its mission, the series has always provided culturally significant and educationally entertaining acts through thought-provoking programming. This year is no exception.

The events showcased on the 2015 – 2016 season offer a fresh perspective in the ever-evolving world of arts and entertainment. “For our 79th season, we are presenting a lineup that is exciting and diverse,” says Penny Watkins, Executive Director for the Marshall Artists Series. “We have music greats this year including rock pioneer, Boz Scaggs, country/pop phenom, Kacey Musgraves, and the pop music story of the year, Walk The Moon. We have the best of Broadway including “Mamma Mia!”, “Annie,” and the musical that swept the Tony Awards, “Once.” “The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra” makes a stop on their US tour, as does The State Ballet Theater of Russia as they bring the breathtaking ballet, “Swan Lake” to the Keith-Albee for the very first time. Additionally, we have a historic collaboration with The Huntington Symphony Orchestra for a multimedia holiday event – Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, plus we screen the beloved film “The Breakfast Club,” featuring a post-film Q & A with the film’s star Molly Ringwald. The Marshall Artists Series is proud to offer such a thrilling and entertaining season. There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.”

CSX, Steptoe & Johnson, Nelson Mullins, AEP, Brickstreet Insurance, Farrell White and Legg, and NRP present An Evening of Comedy with Anthony Jeselnik. Recently added as the host of NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Anthony Jeselnik, an Emmy nominee, most famous for his writing stints on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, is sure to bring laughs to the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Jeselnik’s star has risen rapidly, gaining a huge following while climbing comedy’s ranks. His distinct talent for dark comedy and edgy humor often plays like a one-man roast of society in general, indiscriminately poking fun at anything and everything. Anthony has also performed on Conan, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and was the first ever stand-up comic to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Ticket prices are $40.45/ $34.57.

City National Bank and Frontier Communications present singer-songwriter Kasey Musgraves, who will bring her Grammy award winning hits to the stage of the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. At only 26 years old, the country music sweetheart already has 2 Grammy awards to her name. Musgraves’ Grammy winning debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. The gold-certified album included her top 10, platinum-selling single “Merry Go Round,” as well as “Blowin’ Smoke,” “Follow Your Arrow,” and “Keep It To Yourself.” She’s received nominations for the CMT Music Awards, the American Music Awards, and has taken home CMA awards for “New Artist of the Year” in 2013, and the 2014 CMA Award Song of the Year. Musgraves’ follow-up album, Pageant Material, was just released in June 2015. The Cabell Huntington Hospital proudly presents Grammy Award-winning rock pioneer Boz Scaggs, who will rock the stage of the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. His remarkable career dates back to the late sixties, when he performed with the Steve Miller Band and spanned decades with solo triumphs, such as Silk Degrees, Middle Man, and Some Change and Digs. As a singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Scaggs is known for his explorations into blues, rock, R&B and jazz, as well as his hits including “Lowdown,” “Lido Shuffle,” and “What Can I Say.” “I’m at a point where I’m having a lot of fun with music, more than ever,” Boz Scaggs says about his spellbinding new album A Fool to Care. “It’s like I’m just going wherever I want to go with it.” A Fool to Care was released in spring 2015 and features duets with Bonnie Ralt and Lucinda Williams. In addition to touring exclusively with his own band, Scaggs continues to work with Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald as The Dukes of September, most recently playing a 47-city tour to rave reviews, performing their own material along with R&B and soul classics. This hit Broadway musical is coming to the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Over 50 million people all around the world have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music that make Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel good show! Writer Catherine Johnson’s sunny, funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings 3 men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, and every night everyone’s having the time of their life! The Fall International Film Festival will take place November 6 - 12, 2015, at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center. Featured films include: Landfillharmonic (Paraguay/USA), Wild Tales (Argentina), Citizenfour (USA), Tangerines (Estonia), Phoenix (Germany), and Two Days, One Night (Belgium/France). This show is sponsored by the Cabell Huntington Convention & Visitors Bureau. Individual film admission is $8. 

Marshall University Student Activities presents Cincinnati’s Walk The Moon, one of the biggest stories in music this year. Their huge hit single “Shut Up and Dance” is the song of the summer and has persistently remained near the top of the iTunes download charts and the Billboard charts for the past several months. Walk The Moon makes their debut appearance at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Formed while at Kenyon College by singer/keyboardist Nicholas Petricca, Walk The Moon built up a devoted following on the strength of their ecstatic live show and their undeniably infectious single “Anna Sun.” They hit the late-night TV circuit with performances on Letterman, Fallon, Conan, and Carson Daly. This summer they have hit major music festivals including Firefly, Bunbury, and Lollapalooza 2015. In concert, it’s clear that Walk The Moon’s live show is not a spectator sport. Instead it’s an interactive celebration of life and love, a communal commitment to joy and living in the moment. This show is also sponsored by First State Bank and Con-Jel Sales Corporation. St. Mary’s Medical Center and HIMG present a multi-media family holiday event, as Disney in Concert Presents Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before ChristmasExperience Tim Burton’s iconic full-length feature film, The Nightmare Before Christmas, on the screen at the Keith-Albee with Danny Elfman’s incredible score performed live by The Huntington Symphony Orchestra and special guests, and conducted by Kimo Furumoto. This once in a lifetime collaboration takes place on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. along with a second performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center. The New York Times hails “this event was a substantive, rich and revealing concert. The world’s most well-known, classical ballet Swan Lake is leaping onto the stage of the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center for the first very first time on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 7 p.m. The State Ballet Theater of Russia’s full-scale production will feature 50 dancers, and is set to the memorable music of Tchaikovsky. Based on Russian folklore and German legend, Swan Lake follows a heroic young prince as he works to free the beautiful swan maiden from an evil spell, making her a graceful swan by day, and a young woman by night. The spell can only be broken by a man promising her his eternal love. The prince swears his love but is tricked by the evil sorcerer who cast the spell on Odette. Formed in 1961 by legendary dancer and former Prima Ballerina of The Bolshoi Theater Ballet, Maya Plissetskaya, The State Ballet Theatre of Russia has established itself as one of Russia’s leading ballet companies by building an international reputation for delivering performances of outstanding quality and depth. The soloists and corps de ballet include some of Russia’s most accomplishment dancers, and never fail to delight audiences with their breathtaking physical ability and dazzling costumes. Molly Ringwald Revisits The Club – 30th Anniversary Screening, Discussion and Q & A of The Breakfast Club on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center.  The iconic film The Breakfast Club will be screened, followed by an interactive discussion and Q&A with Molly Ringwald herself.  Whether you’re a Brain, Athlete, Basket Case, Criminal, or Princess, longtime fans and new audiences alike can celebrate the return of this iconic film to the big screen. Detention has never been more fun, especially when one is getting the inside scoop from Molly Ringwald. The Breakfast Club is known as the “quintessential 1980s film” and is considered as one of the best films of the decade. The film was ranked #1 on Entertainment Weekly’s list of the 50 Best High School Movies. This show is sponsored by Trifecta Productions, Community Trust Bank, and M.L. Nichols. Leapin’ Lizards! The timeless story, classic characters, and the unforgettable songs will be hitting the stage of the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Featuring the beloved book and score by Tony Award®-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie includes such unforgettable songs as “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “I Don’t Need Anything But You,” plus the eternal anthem of optimism, “Tomorrow.” “An intensely likable musical!  It has a rare kind of gutsy charm.” -The New York Times “Spectacular on every count.” -Newsweek “Big, warm-hearted, funny and overflowing!” -New York Post. The Spring International Film Festival will take place February 26 – March 3, 2016 at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center. Featured films include: On The Other Side Of The Tracks (France), Timbuktu (Mauritania), The Farewell Party (Israel), Labyrinth of Lies (Germany),Marshland (Spain), and A Hard Day (South Korea).

The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra will make a stop on their historic 80th Anniversary tour at the Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. A special pre-show discussion –Artistic Viewpoints- will be held prior to the show from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Keith-Albee. Dimitry Yablonsky, Conductor Laureate and thirteen-year-old cello virtuoso, Danielle Akta will present a program featuring works by Tchaikovsky, Saint Saens and Rachmaninov. The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1936 as the Palestine Broadcasting Service Orchestra. In the 1970s, the orchestra was expanded into the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Broadcasting Authority. This show is sponsored by Joan Weisberg, Drs.
