Updated 2 years ago Edited from a Press Release

Wayne, West Virginia – In the early morning hours of Wednesday September 2, 2015, the Wayne County Board of Education’s website was hacked by someone claiming to be part of the Islamic State.

When internet users visit the Board of Education’s website they are actually re-directed to another site which promotes Islamic terrorism.

The West Virginia State Police’s Digital Forensics Unit and the FBI are investigating this incident. This type of incident is occurring more often across the country. No specific threats have been made and the public should be reminded that this is simply a tactic used by groups such as the Islamic state in an attempt to instill fear in the general public.
