BARBOURSVILLE, West Virginia – Campers are reminded they can make online campsite reservations for 2016 at Beech Fork State Park near Barboursville and Huntington. The online service began Jan. 1, 2015, and exceeded expectations, renting more than 14,100 reservable campsites from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day in 2015. Beech Fork State Park manages 275 campsites at one of West Virginia's most popular outdoors destinations.

“We saw an increase of almost 900 nights over the previous year before the online reservation system began, an indication the service is appreciated,” said Acting Supt. Dillard Price. “Camping, combined with six vacation cabins, the swimming pool, lake fishing and hiking trails make Beech Fork a popular place to visit or stay overnight.”

The online reservation system for campsites includes an option for reserving up to a year in advance. To make reservations, visit the park website at www.beechforksp.com and click the tab "Online Campground Reservation. The online capability allows campers access for 24-hour reservation service. Only individuals using the online reservation service can reserve a year in advance, beginning the first day of each month. The Beech Fork State Park online reservation system redirects customers to a secure reservation program and format.

Reservations can be made online starting Jan. 1 for 136 reservable campsites from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends. After Labor Day and before Memorial Day weekends, sites are first-come/first-served. Camping reservations can be made beginning Feb. 15 with mail-in applications, followed by phone-in reservations beginning March 15, and then walk-in reservation beginning April 1, 2016.
