PULLMAN SQUARE RETRO:Construction, VIP Party, Opening Marquee Cinemas in Nov 2004

HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) - Pullman Square celebrates its seventh anniversary Saturday with festivities and prizes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The rise of the lifestyle and entertainment center marked the restoration of hope for the city, whose "Superblock" parking lot had been vacant for 30 years. In photos, HNN depicts the venue as it looked at the early stages of construction. Photos display the rise of the parking garages and the Marquee Cinemas exterior.

Finally, Pullman Square opened in stages. Empire Books first, followed by Marqee and Starbucks. Then, it was a bit lonely for about a year until more stores began to sign leases, such as E.B. Games.
