Jonas moves on, Canaan Valley Resort has best skiing in 2016 with savings and snow galore

DAVIS, W.Va., More than 30 inches of snow has accumulated in less than two days on the ski slopes at Canaan Valley Resort State Park near Davis in Tucker County. 

“Conditions are perfect for skiing and tubing” said Steve Drumheller, general manager of Canaan Valley Resort. “It’s simply beautiful since winter storm Jonas moved on. Roads are clear and skiers and boarders are enjoying the season’s best week so far.”

About the Ski Area
Canaan Valley Resort offers an array of winter activities for the outdoor enthusiast, including 47 trails and slopes with wide trails, narrow chutes and high mountain meadows for downhill skiers of all levels. The hill features a mountain summit at 4,280 feet and a vertical drop of 850 feet. The ski area’s longest run is Timber Trail at 6,000 feet.

The terrain park features sculpted jumps, boxes and rails for all skill levels. New this season is the addition of three glade trails. Recent renovations at the ski area included expanded snow making capabilities and renovations to base facilities.
The resort is home to the longest tubing park in the mid-Atlantic region, a covered outdoor ice skating rink, cross-country ski trails and snow shoeing. Other winter activities include an indoor pool, fitness center, hot tub, video game rooms and spa. A variety of dining options are also available at both the Main Lodge and Ski Area facilities.

Budget-conscience skiers can take advantage of midweek ski and tubing promotions. Both active and retired members of the military receive a 50 percent midweek discount and 25 percent weekend discount on lift tickets, a 15 percent lodging discount and a 10 percent tubing discount.
