St. Joe Lady Irish Wins Over South Point
South Point led 18-14 at the end of the first period then 29-27 at the end of the second period. South Point was leading 53-47 at the end of the third period.
St. Joe came back in the fourth period with great effort to out score South Point 27-16 and win 74-69. The game was decided in the last minute of play. South Point was trying to foul, but St. Joe player like Amber Chadwick made four out of four foul shots to help the Irish.
In the consolation game Ashland won over Boyd County 61-55.
Making the SJI All Tournament Team were Mychal Johnson, Terra Stapleton from Saint Joseph; Kayla Fletcher, Jalynn Bradburn from South Point; Julia Heaberlin from Ashland and Courtney Moore from Boyd County.
Sara Sang from Huntington Saint Joseph was named SJI Most Valuable Player. Kimmie Bennett from South Point received the SJI Sportsmanship Award.
