Shynisha Johnson and Jasmine Shaw scored 16 points apiece to lead the Herd to the win.
It was pressure defense for the Herd as they forced the Flashes into 36 turnovers, 18 of them on steals. Victoria Wells led the way with 4 steals.
Marshall opened a 57-24 halftime lead on 19-of-3 5 shooting for 54.3% including 7-of-11 from behind the three point arc for 63.6% while limiting Kent State to 9-of-22 shooting for 40.9%.
