Cabell Midland Students Successful at Tri-State “Dare to Dream” Entrepreneurship Competition

From Press Release

The marketing class from Cabell Midland High School was pleased to have the opportunity to compete in the first-ever tri-state “Dare to Dream” competition.

The event, which took place Friday, May 13, 2016 at Ashland Community & Technical College, was organized by a group of local business owners wanting to inspire entrepreneurship among students. Students developed business “pitches” that were judged by a panel of local business owners, much like you would see on the popular television show, “Shark Tank”. However, instead of receiving funds to start their businesses, the winning students received scholarship prizes.

Schools from Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia were represented at the competition.
Two of the six teams came from Cabell Midland High School. The Cabell Midland team that pitched "Trampoline Park" won 6th place, receiving $500.00 from the title sponsor, Glockner Automotive. The Cabell Midland team that pitched "Indoor Paintball Center" won 3rd place receiving $1,000.00 from the title sponsor, Glockner Automotive.

The winning Cabell Midland teams will be presented with their checks Monday, May 16, 2016 (time to be determined). For more information, please contact Kala DeHart by calling (304) 743-7411 or by email at kaladehart@aol.com.
