Hero Con in Ashland Saturday; Come See Elsa and Beau

The second annual Highlanders HeroCon will take place on Saturday, September 3 at Highlands Museum and Discovery Center, 1620 Winchester Avenue, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The event will be action packed with great vendors from across the region, special guests, superheroes, and more!

The con benefits the educational program and exhibits at the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center, a 501c3 nonprofit regional history and children's museum. Updates will be posted as the event approaches. Check out the HeroCon website www.highlandsmuseum.com/herocon

One of the goals for Highlanders HeroCon is to make it an event the whole family can enjoy. The event is packed with programs and activities the kids will love, like the fun and education animal show performed by Gary Bussa of Des Coveries Wild Animal Shows.

Be sure to stop by the Discovery Center for a special meet and greet with Queen Elsa. She is coming to Highlanders HeroCon all the way from Arendelle spend time and take pictures with the children attending the event.  Volunteers from local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be there doing arts and crafts activities with the kids.

Beau Smith returns as a special guest for Highlanders HeroCon. Smith is the writer/creator of such comic books as Wynonna Earp, 200 People To Kill, Cobb, Parts Unknown, Lost and Found. He is also the writer of Wolverine vs. Shi, Batman/Wildcat, Catwoman/Wildcat, Star Wars, Guy Gardner, Green Lantern Quarterly, Spawn The Undead, and hundreds more. He has also spent 25 years as the Director of Marketing for such publishers as Eclipse Comics, Image Comics, McFarlane Toys and IDW Publishing. He is currently the Director of Marketing for The Library Of American Comics. His incredibly popular comic book Wynonna Earp has been adapted into a television series of the same name on the SyFy Channel.

Pick up tickets to HeroCon in advance. Stop by the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center during regular operating hours to purchase. Admission to HeroCon is $9 for adults, $6 for children 10 and under, and $5 for all museum members. Children 2 and under are free! We can accept cash, check, or credit card (Visa/MasterCard).
