Ohio Inspector General investigates Ohio Industrial Commission employee accused of improper campaign activity‏

The inspector general issued a report of investigation today which was initiated after an anonymous complainant alleged an Ohio Industrial Commission employee was engaged in activities related to political campaigns while at work for the state of Ohio.

 

The investigation found John Matthews, director of claims support for the Ohio Industrial Commission, was wrongfully engaged in political activity during the workday. The inspector general has delivered the report of investigation to the chairman of the Ohio Industrial Commission with a request for a response to a number of recommendations within 60 days.

 

The report of investigation has also been delivered to the Columbus City Attorney and the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration.
