UPDATED & BREAKING: Charles Gardner wanted in connection with the shooting death of James Patton Saturday on Charleston Avenue has been arrested by Tennessee authorities.

Huntington Police identified James Patton (a.k.a. Charles Gandy and Kevin Appling.) as the victim who died of multiple gunshot wounds at a yard in the 1600 block of Charleston Avenue. The shots were first heard at about 11:40 a.m. Saturday, March 25.  He is originally from Michigan.

Charles Gardner, 26, also from Michigan, has based on eyewitness interviews been identified as the shooting suspect. Standing five foot eleven inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds, he  is considered armed and dangerous.

Police Chief Ciccarelli  has told multiple sources that a drug related investigation has been opened.

An active warrant is on file for Gardner. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911.
