In just his second season as head football coach, Doc Holliday's team is Bowl-eligible!  The Thundering Herd finished with a 6-6 record  despite a schedule rated as the 12th toughest in the nation.  In fact, several publications recently recognized our challenging schedule and listed the Thundering Herd as one of the Nation's Top 10 Overachieving Teams of 2011!  Members of the football program, along with the entire Thundering Herd Nation, excitedly await news of our Bowl destination!

One of the most important elements involved with preferred Bowl locations and participation is a program's ability to sell tickets to the event. Consideration for Marshall's team has always been strong because of our ability to get fans to the big game.  Thundering Herd fans interested in following the team to the Bowl game should purchase their tickets through the Marshall Athletics Ticket Office.  When fans buy this this way, Marshall Athletics retains the revenue, which is vital to the future of football  and the entire Athletic Department.  Remember:  Only tickets purchased through the Marshall Athletics Ticket Office will benefit our Athletic Program.

The Bowl announcement will be made sometime on Sunday, December 4, and all official information from Marshall will be released first on http://www.herdzone.com/. Tickets will go on sale shortly after the official announcement is made online.  Current season ticket holders and Big Green members who have purchased their tickets online before can use their existing login and password for Bowl tickets.  Current season ticket holders or Big Green members who have not used the online system should simply follow the prompts to link to their account.

Please, carefully follow the proper steps so that a new account is not created and your existing account incurs the proper points for Bowl ticket purchases.  Tickets can also be purchased through the Ticket Office starting Monday by calling 800-THE-HERD beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Additional information regarding ticket distribution dates and procedures will be outlined in Sunday's exciting announcement!
