Two people have died in what WSAZ.com reports as a police pursuit  shooting in Greenup County, Ky. Multiple law enforcement agencies were chasing the vehicle near Flatwoods. Neighbors, according to WSAZ, reported 20 shots fired.

The Kentucky State Police, Flatwoods Police, Greenup County Sheriff's Department, Russell County Sheriff's Department, and Greenup County EMS responded to the incident.

The vehicle came to rest in a residential yard at   Kentucky 693 near Kentucky 207 in Flatwoods. 

Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Officer Michael Murriell verified that the deaths came as the result of a police pursuit.  No statement has yet been issued whether the two died from self inflicted wounds or from an officer. 

The Ashland Daily Independent reported that neighbor Jordan Fitzgerald said shortly after 10 pm she heard an armada of police vehicles racing through her neighborhood followed by a rapid fire succession of gunshots.

 

"We heard the cops coming through first, a lot of them, and it sounded like automatic weapons," Fitzgerald said. "I heard there are holes in peoples' houses -- it's scary."
