Marshall improved to 6-2 for the season, while extending their win streak to five games in a row. Cincinnati dropped to 6-2 for the year.
Shaw's 13 point production in the second half accounted for all her points in the game, but still put her as the leader on the team in the points category. In the final ten minutes to close out the game, the sophomore guard went 4-for-5 from the field, adding three buckets from behind the arc.
The second half was a complete turn-around from the field after starting the first half with only a 21.4 percent field goal average and a 11.1 percent three-point average. In the second half, Marshall found their stroke and went 6-for-11 in three-pointers and made 44.4 percent of their shots from the field.
"We couldn't find any ways to score in the first half," noted head coach Royce Chadwick. "We didn't have a lot of good rotations in the first half like we normally have. In the second half, our rotations started to settle in."
"Jasmine made some huge baskets," continued Chadwick. "In some spots in the second half, we gave the ball to Jasmine and got out of the way a little bit. We set her screens and said `go make us a play'."
Shaw finished as the points leader, but Lateidra Elliott followed with 12 points for the game after finishing 4-for-5 from the field. The senior guard also accounted for a team-leading four assists and two steals.
To open up the game, the Herd took a 6-0 lead in front of a 2,242 person crowd that marked the most attendance for the "Jam the Cam" promotion in three years.

"I would like to first of all say thank you to all of the fans," commented Chadwick after the game. "A great crowd tonight and a lot of people in the stands made a difference down the stretch. Our girls always play better in that situation and I thought down the stretch the crowd was the difference maker."
Marshall's next game will be in the Cam Henderson Center against Longwood University. The contest is scheduled for this Thursday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
