Marshall to host Annual Tri-State Marching Championships Oct. 5

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. –  Marshall University’s Marching Thunder will host the Annual Tri-State Marching Championships Saturday, Oct. 5. The marching band competition will feature 16 bands from throughout the Tri-State, who will perform at the Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

 

The event goes on from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5 and includes a performance by the Marshall University Marching Thunder.

 

This year features a new format. In addition to crowning a Tri-State Champion, judges will also award a state champion from Ohio, from Kentucky and from West Virginia.

 

“The Tri-State Marching Championships showcase the best musicians and performers in our area,” said Marshall’s Director of Bands Adam Dalton. “The time and passion these students put in is incredible to watch, and being able to see that in the beautiful Joan C. Edwards Stadium is a real treat.”
