Goodwill Industries Achieves Highest Accreditation for Five Programs

Special to HuntingtonNews.Net

Huntington, WV (HNN) -- Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA has been informed by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) that it has been accredited for a period of three years, through March 2014, for five employment services programs:

Community Job Development, Community Job Supports, Community Job-Site Training, Employee Development Services, and Employment Skills Training Services.

This designation, which represents the highest level of accreditation, is awarded to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality. In their report CARF’s reviewers applauded Goodwill’s numerous Career Center classes and its collaboration with MountWest Community College to award credit for successful completion of Career Center courses.

The latest accreditation marks the ninth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation awarded Goodwill by CARF, an international accrediting body that promotes rehabilitation services by establishing consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services. CARF standards are developed with input from consumers, rehabilitation professionals, state and national organizations, and funding sources to determine how well an organization is serving its consumers and how it can improve. Every year the standards are reviewed and revised to keep pace with changing conditions and current consumer needs.
