DEVOTION: Bringing the Light

DEVOTION: Bringing the Light
For those buried under several feet of snow... without power... bringing the light is of the utmost necessity. Total darkness reminds us how welcome are those bringing the light. Most often we take for granted how consistently creation continues...bringing the light.
Whether it be part of our natural resources or a planned element included in our basic spiritual requirements... gratitude erupts in bringing the light.
"God is spirit, and those who worship God must worship in spirit and truth."
"I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go;  I will counsel you with my eye upon you."
Just as the light of day is a part of our relationship to God... our Maker and the one who sustains us... we are promised God's light of love will come in relationship to those around us... to what and who we perceive bringing the light.
O God, I so easily forget that there is nothing in this world that does not contain the light of your love and grace. Even in what seems for me to be the dark, You are there.  Forgive me when I limit the magnitude of your knowledge and power for healing and hope and help me trust that you are working in and through every molecule of life that surrounds me... and not only me... but all the world.  You are the Creator and Sustainer and Redeemer of all and your love will prevail. O I pray for forgiveness when I knowingly or in human ignorance snuff out the light of your gracious and unconditional compassion.  Renew a right spirit within me and cleanse the impurities from my heart and mind. Let your spirit and truth guide us... teach us... mold us... empower us... in knowing and bringing the Light.
