HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) -  Come Monday, Feb. 28, Huntington City Hall hosts more than the regular 7:30 p.m. meeting of City Council.

At 4 p.m. the Huntington Municipal Development Authority, which recently announced the sale of the Huntington Industrial Center to Level One Fasteners, holds its February meeting in Council Chambers at City Hall. On its agenda will be a review of the January 2011 financial statement, a report from director, Tom Bell, and approval to deviate from Kinetic Park design guidelines.

At 6 p.m. in council chambers, council’s Planning & Zoning Committee takes up the proposed rezoning of property at 111 25th Street from I-I (General Industrial) to R-5. The location is under consideration for a townhouse project.  Committee members have to determine whether the infrastructure, such as the sewer and storm runoff accommodations adequately address the new vision. At the first reading, council was told that the greenery design of the parking lot would alleviate storm water concerns.

Finally, at 7:30 p.m. , Huntington City Council holds its second meeting for the month of February. The body will be in the midst of number crunching as budget hearings begin on Thursday, Feb. 24. Departments and areas addressed will be Revenue, Contingencies, Municipal Court, Purchasing, Street Paving , City Council , City Clerk. The hearing begins 15 minutes after the work session adjourns. Council meets Saturday morning, Feb. 26, at 9 a.m. for the second budget session, when those for the Police Department, IT, Municipal Parking Board, Civic Arena, Enterprise Fund, and Insurance will be on the agenda.
