Last Mountain Showing Tonight at MU

On Thursday, Jan. 26th, at 6:00 PM there will be a free showing of the movie, The Last Mountain on Marshall University’s campus. This film concerns mountaintop removal and  has received a lot of acclaim, and was  a top 10 documentary pick of 2011 by film critic Roger Ebert. The movie will be shown starting at 6:00 pm; there will be a discussion following. It features OVEC Organizer Maria Gunnoe, Robert Kennedy Jr., and many West Virginians. It was premiered at the Sundance Film festival and  shown in theatres nationwide in 2011. The location will be at the Robert C. Byrd Biotech Center, on 3rd Avenue across from the main part of Marshall’s campus on the river side of Third Ave.  at  17th St., in room  101.

There is free street parking at night near the Bio-tech center, but it is first come, first served. There are some parking garages and lots around campus, but some of these are permit only and/or pay parking.
