The win marked the Herd's 20th of the season and has moved them into a sixth place tie in C-USA standings, only two games behind UAB, which leads the league.
Country recording artist, Ricky Huckabay, son of the late Herd Coach Rick Huckabay --- one of the university's winningest coaches , sang the national anthem.
