HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) – Not fading fast: King’s Speech; Fading Out: True Grit. Hanging on… 127 Hours , Black Swan and the Fighter.
The Oscars were kind to the King, so he’s likely to be playing a little longer. “Black Swan” and “The Fighter” copped the Best Actress (Natalie Portman) and bboth Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories (Christian Bale, Melissa Leo) , so that adds a little more leg to their theatrical runs. Unfortunately, “True Grit” won ZERO awards despite ten nominations. “127 Hours” had six noms, but no one was called to the stage to give an acceptance speech.
