Marshall to Hold 15th Annual Sweetheart Clinic Sunday
The annual clinic for girls ages 4 to 12 began in 1998, and is conducted in conjunction with the National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Since its inception, more than 1700 girls have participated and had the opportunity to learn developmental skills in nine women’s sports.
Participants who have preregistered will be divided into age groups and will rotate through nine different sport specific stations inside the Marshall Recreation Center. They will be learning developmental sports skills from Marshall coaches and student-athletes.
This year’s Sweetheart Clinic is sponsored by Marshall Athletics, Marshall Recreation Center, CJT’s, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), American Health Centers, WMUL-FM, Tic Toc Tire, Pepsi, Fabric Town, and Dominos Pizza.
The clinic, which will also feature a pizza party and pep rally, will lead up to the Marshall Women’s Basketball game at 1:00 PM against UAB inside the Cam Henderson Center. Family members and observers of clinic participants may purchase a ticket to the women's basketball game during clinic for $3.
