Marshall Women’s Golf Tees Off the Spring Season

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- Marshall women’s golf opens its spring season this weekend as it travels to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for Barefoot at the Beach. The three-day tournament begins Sunday, Mar. 6 at Davis Love Course on the Barefoot Resort with tee times beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The Thundering Herd joins Conference USA foe East Carolina, along with 13 additional schools participating in the event; Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, East Tennessee State, Georgetown, High Point, Illinois State Kennesaw State, Mercer, Morehead State, Old Dominion and Wisconsin.

Marshall will travel a youthful lineup in senior Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio), sophomore Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va.), sophomore Elin Andersson (Stockholm, Sweden), and a pair of freshmen Allison Harper (Upper Arlington, Ohio) and Rachel Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio).

The Herd finished off the fall with a third place finish at the UAB Fall Beach Blast. Andersson carded a 78 on the final day to earn the first top-10 finish of her career, tying for seventh. Harper, who also tied for seventh, shot a 72 on day one as the both finished with a two-day total of 152.
