CHARLESTON, WV (HNN) – On March 1, the Presbytery of West Virginia voted 93-56 to support a measure which would allow ordination of gay clergy, elders and deacons. This practice is currently forbidden by the Presbyterian Church U.S.A.’s constitution.

The change will now be considered in June along with the votes of 170 Presbyteries. A majority of the 170 Presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. must vote in favor of the amendment for it to become effective.
