Marshall’s Thundering Herd came within three points of a hundred in defeating last year’s C-USA basketball conference champion. Marshall rallied past Houston 97-87 thanks to a three pointer by Damier Pitts that took the green and white from a nine point deficit to an eventual lead.

Pitts scored a total of 28 points.
