The change to Daylight Savings Time means we move the cloc

ks forward and begin adjusting to a new body schedule.  Outside circumstances effect us in more ways than one.

For all of Japan... it will be difficult to spring forward.  Such devastation is too overwhelming...heart, mind, body and spirit will not easily conform... nor be transformed.

Life changing experiences call for much meditation... consolation... enlightenment ... adaptation... commitment... trust... community...

This first Sunday of Lent reminds us of the long nights and days we are to "prepare".

"The Master was led into the wilderness to be tested.  First he fasted forty days and forty nights days and forty nights, and afterwards he was famished. The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread. But he answered, “It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone,  but by every word that comes from the mouth of God'."

Trusting that all will be provided when we are thirsty or hungry, hurt, totally devastated, alone, angry, violated, tired, injured, sick, entirely dependent, fully responsible, traveling, waiting, grieving, making decisions... takes incredible belief and faith.

Preparation and implementation can be sudden and without warning or last a lifetime.

"God, You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."

O God, I try to find answers and direction from people and information... from listening and searching and I do so forget to "rest in You".  I run from this place to the next hoping to find harmony and comprehension and wind up anxious and afraid.  I am trained to look for reasons and explanations for everything that transpires in my realm of being and design a plausible plan of action... but for the life of me I truly cannot always understand the "why".  Forgive me, O God, for trying to replace your presence and peace.  You have promised to be with us... never to leave us... always provide us with strength and hope... and love us unconditionally... but we so quickly and easily forget.  We try so hard to do it all on our own without falling into Your hands of grace and mercy.  Hold us today.  Comfort our hearts and minds... our body and spirit.  Feed us with goodness and kindness.  Renew a right spirit within us and grant us your patience and peace.  We hold to the rock of your love and pray for strength to keep on keeping on even as we spring forward.
