HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) - The Huntington Saint Joseph Central Catholic High School girl's basketball team  will seek their 4th. consecutive West Virginia Class A high school  girl's basketball championship at Charleston next week.   St. Joe defeated  Man High School 92-34 to win the Class A, Region IV Championship at the St. Joe High School Gymnasium.  After the clock started it took St. Joe only 3 minutes and forty seconds  to take a 21-3 over Man.   The St. Joe defense got tougher and allowed only two more Man points and was up 31-5 at the end of the first period.  


Man only scored only two points in the second period and St. Joe was up 44-7 by the half.    Man was able to generate some offense scoring 27 points in the last two periods. 

The St. Joe offense was in high gear on this Leap Year Day and was ahead 75-24 at the end of the third period to finish the game  up 92-34 to the delight of Irish fans.

Early speculation has St. Joe playing on Thursday (March 8)  evening at the Charleston Civic Center.
