HUNTINGTON, WV -- The Marshall baseball team will play host for the first time this season when it welcomes the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley, W.Va. on Friday.

The three-game series will feature Friday and Saturday games beginning at 4 p.m. and a Sunday game slated for 12:30 p.m.

It will be the first non-conference series hosted by Marshall since the Thundering Herd matched up against the Bonnies at the same time last year.  Marshall won the series then and will look to do the same at the end of this week.

The two teams have met a total of six times in program history, and Marshall leads the series 4-2.  In 2005, the Herd won the three-game series two games to one and replicated that same feat in 2011.  In each instance, the Herd won games one and two before dropping game three.

Marshall (7-9) is coming off a loss on the road to Morehead State earlier this week.  The loss snapped its longest winning streak of the season at three games.  St Bonaventure (5-5) is currently on a three-game losing skid.

The Herd is batting .255 as a team with freshman Adrian Farris (.306) now leading the way.  Nathan Gomez, despite his 0-for-4 performance in the team’s last outing, still leads Marshall in run production with 18 RBIs and remains in a third place ranking in Conference-USA.

St. Bonaventure is batting .317 as a team and currently boasts five players batting over .300.  Additionally, junior Billy Urban and senior Nick Brennen are each batting over a .400 clip.

Gametracker will be available for every contest and can be accessed through HerdZone.com.  As a reminder for Herd fans, live chat will not be featured for home games this season.
