HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) – A group of lucky film writers had an opportunity this week to view about 20 minutes of clips from “Super 8.” The movie shot last fall in and around Weirton, WV and due for release in June was directed by J.J. Abrams.

Although the plot details remain veiled, in theatre advertising for the production reveals that a group of youngsters are making their own flick, when a train crashes that had an alien on board.

Those who have spoken with Abrams or viewed the footage have made comparisons to “E.T.” or even “The Goonies,” two classic Stephen Spielberg classics.
