For years we recall the old judgement of the first and last day of March... as to whether it might come... in or out... like a lion or a lamb.
Some specifics events in our lives may have the same effect on our heart, mind, body and soul.  Coming in like a lion... going out like a lamb... or maybe just the opposite. What is it that triggers us to respond... and why can the same experience ... word... picture... sound... be totally perceived in conflicting comprehension. How do we discern spiritual truth... human understanding... scientific explanation... educated vernacular... our own living experience... in complicated issues of life. "One Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all... but to each one of us grace has been given." We are one together in God's hands... but we each have God's grace to be our self. Praise God...we are not all created the same or gifted in uniformity. Yet the winds will blow... the chill of the air will take our breath away... and sometimes the ice will freeze our hearts and minds so we can hardly function. It is the paschal lamb that reminds us..." My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." Laying down our faith and being willing to allow God's love to prevail brings light... warmth... healing and hope even in the midst of a bleak forecast. O God... the weather is so quick to change.  One day can be some warm and welcoming and the next be filled with hail... whipping winds and an unsettling chill.  Hold me in your arms of love... like the Shepherd holds the trembling lamb. Empower my heart to be filled with goodness and patience... with peace and forgiveness.  Open my eyes to the fullness of your creation... to endless possibilities that continue to bring us to the truth that NOTHING can separate us from Your Love... that it extends to every corner of the every person on any planet... to heights and depths too great for us to fathom. Assure my mind that mercy and judgement lies safe in Your hands and I only need to rest in your grace and goodness.  Strengthen my body to be about the business of loving and responding ... of listening and learning... of giving and blessing ...each and every day that goes either in or out.
