Huntington Symphony Cancels Performance

Huntington, WV (HNN) - The financial struggling Huntington Symphony Orchestra announced today as a reminder that the April 23, 2011 performance was cancelled.

This concert was scheduled at the Keith Albee Performing Arts Center in Huntington, but due to the financial situation of the HSO the performance had to be cancelled.

The Huntington Symphony Orchestra has started the Save the Music Campaign requesting contributions to support the orchestra. Contributions are gracefully accepted at: Save the Music Campaign P.O. Box 2434, Huntington, WV 25717. In the past year the HSO contributions have dropped 39% along with corporate donations are down 52%.

Along with the Save the Music Campaign, the HSO will be having its annual Tag Sale May 14th on the plaza in from of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. The sale starts at 9am and last until done. Donations of items are being accepted at the Huntington Symphony Orchestra Offices at 763 Third Ave, Huntington, WV, phone 304-781-8343.
