Scrimmages Make Up Green and White Game
This "game" was a controlled coaching scrimmage rather then the traditional scrimmage. There were no four plays for a first down, no kicking or punting, no time kept on the score board. It was designed to run around 100 football plays from certain yard lines switching teams and players ever so often.
The 6,010 fans in attendance applauded when there was a score made or other fine play executed. Former Huntington High player C.J. Crawford had some impressive numbers scoring one TD, five receptions and led the Marshall receiving corps with 77 yards.
A strong thunder storm with lightening coming in from the west cut the scrimmage short that was getting close to completion. An announcement was made to evacuate the stadium and the weather warning broadcast was played over the stadium sound system ending the Green-White football game for 2011.
