DEVOTION: Get a Little Rest
  SIGN IN 24/7

"The Master said: "Come off by yourselves; let's take a break and get a little rest." For there was constant coming and going. They didn't even have time to eat. So they got in the boat and went off to a remote place by themselves. Someone saw them going and the word got around. From the surrounding towns people went out on foot, running, and got there ahead of them. When the Master arrived, he saw this huge crowd. At the sight of them, his heart broke—like sheep with no shepherd they were. He went right to work teaching and healing them."

Where were you when I needed you?

I thought you said you would always be there for me.   How could this have happened.   Why?
O God, I depend on you to be there always.  If every circumstance of life is surrounded by your Spirit of goodness and love, then why is there so much pain in the world.  Why do people suffer  tragedy and death when your power is for all eternity. I get so tired of trying... asking... praying... planning... hoping... doing and yet there seems to be no end to my need and the need of others.  Help me Father.  Take me away for awhile.  Let me cruise quietly to the other shore and rest. Draw near and hold me close and fill my heart with hope and healing. I do so want to be refreshed... renewed... fed with living bread... empowered with hope and forgiveness... having my eyes and ears opened to God's truth... resting in the blessed assurance of God's love. Thank you, Lord, for letting me come and go.  Thank you for quiet strength... for time out... for a whispered prayer... for being carried on the wind.  Thank you for being open 24 hours a day... standing guard... shedding light in the darkness... being on duty so I can come and get a little rest.
