HUNTINGTON, WV Marshall University head men’s basketball coach Tom Herrion has added his second recruit of the spring and fifth since last fall as Robert Goff has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement with the Thundering Herd for next season.

Goff, a 6-9 forward, brings two seasons of junior college experience, most recently playing for head coach Steve Eck at Hutchinson (Ks.) Community College.  He previously committed to the University of Oklahoma, but was given his release following a coaching change.

The Indianapolis, Ind. native averaged 9.1 points per game and 6.2 rebounds while helping Hutchinson to an 18-4 mark and a perfect 11-0 non-conference record.

"We are really excited that Robert has decided to be a part of our basketball program,” Herrion commented.  “Robert is an extremely talented young man who has played for an outstanding coach in Steve Eck the past few years. His size, athleticism and versatility will be a great addition to our team as we prepare for next year."

According to JucoRecruiting.com, Hoff was named as the 18th best JUCO prospect in the nation.  Dennis Tinnon, who signed with the Herd in 2010, is ranked 20th on that list.

Goff spent the 2008-09 season as a freshman playing at Cowley Community College, also in Kansas.
