Fine Art Photographer Offers Class at Cabell-Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau

Award-winning fine art photographer Laura Mohl will conduct a photography marketing course on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cabell Huntington Convention and Visitors Bureau located at Heritage Station in Huntington, West Virginia (course # WV20).

Moul has been a fine art photographer since 1991 and is one of only 3% of professional photographers in the U.S. to have certification from the Professional Photographic Certification Commission from which she was awarded Master Photographer in 2001.

Among her many awards, she has been recognized seven times in the past eight years as a Top 10 Photographer by Professional Photographers of West Virginia.  Moul’s photos can be seen in galleries all over the region including the Tamarack and the University of Charleston West Virginia Artists Emma Byrd Gallery permanent exhibit.  Moul is also an active member of MiAppa (Made in Appalachia), a nonprofit organization dedicated to recognizing and promoting the work of Appalachian artists, and her work is also available at Heritage Arts Station – A MiAppa Artisan Place at Heritage Station in Huntington, West Virginia. Moul’s work can also be found at The Red Caboose inside the Visitors Center.

“Marketing Fine Art Photography” will teach photographers how to take advantage of art shows, galleries and the internet to market work to potential customers.  In addition, participants will learn more about jurying in the art community and writing grants.  Individuals coming in on Sunday, May 15 will have the opportunity for some informal landscape shooting, dependent on weather.
