Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Customers in Huntington

Edited from a Press Release

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (May 20, 2011)  West Virginia American Water has lifted a precautionary boil water advisory for customers on and around areas of Rt. 2 in Huntington.

The advisory was issued for affected customers yesterday following a water leak from a damaged fire hydrant, which caused low water pressure and service interruptions in some areas.

Results of water quality testing have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards, and there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption.

West Virginia American Water thanks its customers for their patience and cooperation during this event. Customers are encouraged to share this information with other West Virginia American Water customers in the affected area.
