DEVOTION: Finding the Way

by Beth Bondurant
Even with map quest... verbal directions and a street address ...
finding the way can be more than impelling.

Finding the way to best clean venetian blinds with lengths and layers of hidden dust can be a daunting task.

The truth of diversity and variance defies simply finding the way... with so many consequences.

To speak... to act... to think.... to be... requires constant searching and divine discovery.

“Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Choosing the way can be a cooperative venture or may require individual discernment.

Commitment to an elected decision becomes a matter of trust.

"You know the way to the place where I am going.”

O God, you allow us so many options in our day to day "relay for life".  We can become so lost and burdened... wandering so far away from our intended mode of operation... blinded to the way you would have us go.  We admit we do not know what is best in so much of what we choose to do.  We cling to your goodness and grace and give thanks for your ever present wisdom and guidance.  You bless us in the people that hover around to share ... to carry ... to bear us up when the way is long... tedious and distressing.  We look at the beauty so delicately defined in the face of a child and wonder at your love for us even when we stumble ... waver... and race to undetermined destinations.  We so need your guiding hand, O Lord, and like the first disciples cry out in confidence that Your unconditional love is our hope and strength in finding The Way.
