The discussion concerning the FOP PAC endorsement for Mayor has prompted a further response from Mayor Kim Wolfe. The incumbent mayor, who has taken heat for his operation of the city during financial crisis, had stated that those voting did not endorse him because he had not given them a pay raise and had delayed action on the new contract.

"Spin does not change the truth," Mayor Wolfe said in a Sunday evening text. "Making the right decisions is still the right thing to do."

HNN recently received a statement from Alan Rohrig explaining the endorsement of Steve Williams. It stated in part:

"The Political Action Committee felt Councilman Williams’ business and legislative experience along with his leadership qualities will lead Huntington to a prosperous future.  A prosperous Huntington is good for all," Rohrig said in clarifying the endorsement.

The full statement can be found at: http://www.huntingtonnews.net/46040

However, the composition of those present during the 32-27 vote to endorsement has been challenged. Rohrig said , "Over 60 members were present to vote on the endorsement for Mayor."
