DEVOTION : Seeing Red

by Beth Bondurant
HUNTINGTON, WV (HNN) -  One must prepare to act.

Even in the simplest plan of the day... making ready is mandatory.

 Getting up requires basic movement.

 Last minute adjustments provide challenge.

 Procuring the hope necessitates faith.

Truly believing in God's way and trusting that God is always working for good takes real commitment.

What happens around us isn't always a clear picture of God's love and grace.  Surely, my way of thinking is better than another "version" of God's truth.  How can this be?

"The day of Pentecost came. The believers all gathered in one place. Suddenly a sound came from heaven. It was like a strong wind blowing. It filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw something that looked like tongues of fire. The flames separated and settled on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to speak in languages they had not known before. The Spirit gave them the ability to do this."

O God, sometimes you have to blow me away for me to see where you want me to be. Forgive me for separating myself from your guidance.  I want to feel the wind of your Spirit in my heart... in my mind... in my body... in my spirit.

O God, light the fire of truth above me... in me... around me... and fuel the flame with love and grace... peace and goodness... patience and faithfulness.

O God, I want to commit my days... my nights... my words... my actions... my desires... my direction... to your unconditional love and amazing grace.

Prepare me O God, and enable my spirit today in being and SEEING RED.
