AC30 has released a new single The band features ex-American Minor guitarist Bud Carroll and well known local bass player Ian Thorton. The band was listed in Paste Magazine’s article “10 West Virginia Bands You Need To Listen To Now” -
Stacee Lawson who has been rocking the region for years is fronting Under Social. The band which is the same band that has backed her solo performances will be rocking harder than her solo material. A couple of Tri-Staters have done well in the music world. Larry Rust grew up in Huntington and played keyboard and did vocals for a while with an incarnation of Iron Butterfly. He is now making a world-wide name for himself with an outstanding solo cd. Another Tri-State resident is the lead singer for Marion Crane. Thomas Crane is actually a graduate of Chesapeake High School and Marshall University. Marion Crane is perhaps the hottest indie rock band in the country and their cd “The New Religion” has made national waves. Hydrogyn has been hinting toward a 'box set.' Also Hydrogyn lead singer Julie Westlake is going to be on a new reality show on CMT. The reality show that Julie is in will air January 26th at 10 and 10:30 on CMT. The name of show is Guntucky . .According to : ”The 10-episode series Guntucky follows the three generations of the Sumner family who run Knob Creek Gun Range in Knob Creek, Ky. At the range, it's up to the family to keep things running smoothly as customers use, try out, purchase and sell weapons across a broad spectrum of firearms -- from cannons to machine guns. The family will also create shooting scenarios for their guests, hunting down rare and hard to find firearms for anything from a Civil War reenactment to a movie-style mobster scene. Things get crazy when customers get to blow up whatever they can physically bring to the range. Two half-hour episodes of Guntucky will premiere weekly at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PM.”
Hydrogyn guitarist Jeff Westlake is working on the second cd of his side project Audio Porn. Westlake is playing all guitars and bass for new project Audio Porn. Azriel St. Michael is the vocalist and Byron Black is on drums. They have just released the 80s sounding album "Jezebel's Kiss" worldwide.
