Corey Dante Easterling, a person of interest, present during the death of a Huntington woman at a Huntington motel is now co-operating with the WV State Police, according to Trooper S. S. Gula.

Meagan Cregut Steele, 27, a Cabell Midland High School graduate, was unresponsive after Easterling allegedly left her in a bathroom to get cigarettes at the motel, according to a female present in the motel room. She said that he did not return. A friend dialed 911 for assistance.

Ms. Steele's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office for cause of death determination. The WV State Police are awaiting the results of a  toxicology report. The investigation remains in its early stages.

An individual identifying himself as Easterling called HNN twice early Saturday morning and stated he had been in contact with the State Police.
