UPDATE: Costner Takes SAG Acting for "Hatfields & McCoys," "Argo," Lewis for "Lincoln", Lawrence for "Silver Linings" Major Winners

Kevin Costner has won the Best Male Actor Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in the "Hatfields and McCoys" mini-series, which aired on the History Channel. Marshall University graduate and Milton, WV native, Darrell Fetty, co-produced the three part story of America's greatest feud. Julianne Moore won Best Female Actor in a mini series for her role in "Game Change," in which she played Sarah Palin.

Jennifer Lawrence won best Female Actor for "Silver Linings Playbook," stressing in her acceptance speech how many people the portrayal has helped. The film concerns a divorced male and a widow each of whom have experienced significant emotional difficulties in moving on with their lives. Things start to change when they accept each other as friends.

Daniel Day Lewis won for his performance in "Lincoln."

Making it two nights in a row, "Argo" took the Best Performance by a Cast, which makes both it , "Lincoln" and "Silver Linings Playbook" as Oscar favorites. "Argo" won the Best Production Saturday, Jan. 26, of the Producers Guild.

 

 

HBO's "Game Change" which tells the story of Sarah Palin's entry into the 2008 Presidential race has won the Producers Guild Award for best long form TV entry. Among the nominees were "Hatfields and McCoys" which aired on the History Channel. "Argo," the story of a filmmaking ruse that freed hostages in Iran, won the Best Picture category.

However, Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton will compete for best male actor in a mini-series at Sunday night's Screen Actor's Guild Awards.
