Public Invited to Huntington High Senior Honors Program Presentations at Art Museum May 5

Special to HuntingtonNews.Net

As seniors, students in Huntington High School’s Senior Honors Program work on a project for an entire year, conducting research and compiling a special presentation.  This year, for the first time, those presentations will be available for public viewing at the Huntington Museum of Art Sunday, May 5 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.

“I think it is wonderful to give these students such a classy venue to show their work, and having this event at the museum truly makes it a community event,” says Amy McElroy, a Foreign Language teacher at Huntington High School and organizer of the event.  “The students have worked very hard; I feel like the quality of projects and presentations is strong.”

As part of the afternoon, at intermission, the students will partake in a special celebration banquet.

McElroy says she is also seeking adjudicators to judge the students’ presentations.  If you are a school employee, district leader, or just want to be involved, you are encouraged to contact her at the school by calling (304) 528-6561  or by email at amcelroy@access.k12.wv.us.
