Updated 6 years ago by David "Alligator" Williams
Guitarist Jeff Westlake has officially joined the legendary rock band The Godz.
Westlake, a graduate of Fairland High School in Proctorville, Ohio joins another guitarist from the Huntington area in the band.

Vinnie Salvatore from Huntington played guitar on The Godz 2012 comeback cd "Last of The Outlaws." Westlake had been a longtime friend of Salvatore's but recently gained the attention of The Godz management when he submitted a cover of The Godz classic "Gotta Keep Runnin'" for inclusion on the forthcoming Godz tribute cd which will be released this Summer on F'N'A Records.

The Huntington area pair will join original Godz vocalist and old school rock n roll outlaw Eric Moore who will also play bass. John Cardilino will drum for the band. Cardilino is the drummer for Blackstone a band which had their new cd produced by Jeff Westlake.
The Godz rode out of the heartlands of Columbus, Ohio, in the middle seventies and onto Casablanca Records and the opening spot on the Love Gun Tour for KISS with fellow opening act Cheap Trick.

The Godz were more like a motorcycle gang than rock band in looks, attitude, and hard party lifestyle. The band rocked but later disappeared.
The band is now back in a big way. They have recently re-released their classic album “Mongolians” and have released two cds of rarities, hits, and live tracks called From The Vault Volume 1 and From The Vault Volume 2. The cds can be bought at http://fnarecords.net/ The Godz can be followed at www.thegodz.us

Jeff Westlake is the guitarist for the melodic rock/ metal band Hydrogyn. Hydrogyn is fronted by Westlake's wife Julie. Hydrogyn has released five successful studio albums and a live release. The band has toured the world and has been featured on the cover of several magazines throughout the world. Hydrogyn's Bombshell cd charted in Billboard magazine and was produced by rock legend Michael Wagner. Ex- Dio guitarist Craig Goldy was briefly a member of Hydrogyn as was ex-Megadeath guitarist Jeff Young.

The multi-talented Westlake has produced several cds and bands in various genres. His side project Ura-Kia released a highly regarded self-titled debut cd ( URA_KIA reviewed by Alligator Jackson http://www.therealmusician.com/ura-kia.html ) . This summer another side project Audio Porn is releasing their follow up to their internationally released debut cd. There first cd “Jezebel’s Kiss” received strong reviews (http://www.metal-temple.com/site/catalogues/entry/reviews/cd_3/a_2/audio-porn-jezebels.htm ).
Westlake also wrote a book about ex-Dio guitarist Tracy G called “Tracy G – The Dio Years and Beyond The Skull” http://www.amazon.com/Tracy-Dio-Years-Beyond-Skull/dp/0615621147 .

The new The Godz line up is getting ready to enter Ridgeline Studio in Ashland Ky to record the next release tentavly scheduled for a later 2013 release.
