Hydrant Maintenance Will Cause Water Disruption for 300 Huntington Customers

Edited from a Press Release

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (HNN) – Approximately 300 customers in Huntington may experience a disruption in their water service on Thursday, July 14. The affected areas include Spring Valley Drive, Goodwill Road, Briarcliff Road and Sherwood Drive.

The planned outage, which is due to a hydrant maintenance project, will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude by approximately 4:30 p.m. During this time, affected customers may experience low water pressure or a disruption in service. The project will allow West Virginia American Water to continue offering the reliable service its customers deserve and expect, and we apologize for any inconvenience our customers may experience.

A boil water advisory will immediately follow once water service is restored. Customers are asked to bring water used for drinking, cooking, bathing and brushing teeth to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use.

Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water.
